HNG - transformable lamp
HNG was a project done in cooperation with fellow students Theo TveterÄs and Synne Geirsdatter during spring of 2007 at the Oslo School of Architecture and Design.
HNG was part of the Norwegian Design Council's annual Young Talent exhibition in 2009.
We were given the task to make a product or object that was impossible to manufacture by conventional means other than Rapid Prototyping technology.
This resulted in a transformable lamp. The lamp consists of hundreds of pieces connected by hidden hinges (inspiring the name HNG). The system in which the pieces are hinged together allows great movement in one axis giving the lamp the ability to stretch and transform.
